Italian government confirms new contribution of €800.000 to UNESCO Trust Fund

cooperazione italianaThe Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Cultural Heritage and Activities, Mr. Francesco Rutelli, in Zadar for the fourth Ministerial Conference on Cultural Heritage in SEE, announced that the Italian government (Cooperazione Italiana – Ministry of Foreign Affairs) has granted a second contribution of €800.000 to the Trust Fund for Cultural Heritage in SEE. The new contribution confirms and re-launches the commitment of the Italian government to support cultural cooperation in the region, thus increasing the overall financial contribution by Italy to the operational follow-up of the Ministerial conferences up to a total of €1.600.000.

UNESCO Assistant-Director General for Culture, Ms. Francoise Rivière, also participating in the conference, confirmed that the Section for Culture of UNESCO Office in Venice will continue to manage the Trust Fund. Activities to be realised in this framework will be identified and implemented in close cooperation with Ministries of Culture of SEE countries.
