Medieval fortresses along the Danube:
new route for cultural tourism in Serbia
Serbian Ministry of culture will host a seminar in Belgrade on "Tourism and the medieval fortresses along the Danube in Serbia: balancing safeguarding and economic impact" (15 March 2009)
On 15 Marc 2009, the Serbian Ministry of Culture is organising a seminar on the topic "Tourism and the medieval fortresses along the Danube in Serbia: balancing safeguarding, social benefit and economic impact". The workshop is the third meeting organised out of a programme of 7 events at local and national level, intended to support the creation of partnerships for the enhancement of sustainable cultural tourism along the medieval fortresses on the river Danube.
On 12 November 2009 the Macedonian Minister of Culture, Ms. Elizabeta Kanceska-Milevska, opened the official ceremony for the presentation of 4 publications on the safeguarding and promotion of Macedonian Cultural Heritage. The event, held at Daut Pasha Hamam, also saw the participation of Mr. Pasko Kusman, Director of the Cultural Heritage Protection Office in Skopje, and of the Director of UNESCO Venice Office.
On 1-4 October experts and professionals on underwater cultural heritage from South-Eastern Europe and other European and Mediterranean countries will meet in Zadar, Croatia, hosted by the International Centre for Underwater Archaeology
On 20 March 2009 an extraordinary session of the IWG will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria, aimed at paving the way for organisation of 2009 Ministerial Conference.
Ministry of Culture, Sports and Media of Montenegro started up activities for preparation of a management Plan for the city of Cetinje, with support of the Trust Fund for Cultural Heritage in SEE.
Ministers of Culture of South-Eastern Europe met in Bucharest for the Fifth Ministerial Conference on Cultural Heritage in SEE, in order to re-launch regional cooperation for safeguarding and promoting the shared cultural heritage.
